  11. --- Leander Hard Disk Installer ---

  13. This installer requires the ORIGINAL disks from Leander (there are 3).
  14. It should NOT work for cracked versions.
  15.  
  16. The HD-Patched game will need about 3Mb of memory.
  17. It should work on ALL Kickstarts and ALL CPUs (up to '060).
  18. Report me any bugs you'll find.
  19.  
  20. Note: I created and tested this package with a A1200/060/50 16Mb, so there should
  21. be no problems for all 680x0 CPUs (caches,chipset...). It degrades display properly
  22. so Multiscan users won't have any sprite or screen problem.

  24. INSTALLING THE GAME:
  25.  
  26. Just click on the Install-Leander icon. You need the commodore 'Installer'
  27. program to run the install script. It's not provided here.
  28. Then follow the instructions.
  29.  
  30. When the disks are copied during installation, the pointer freezes. That's
  31. normal cause the game uses a custom trackload routine (copy-protection), and
  32. it does not easily multitask.
  33. To abort installation during the custom disk loading, just press the left mouse
  34. button.
  35. The installer also checks that you inserted the correct disk. In case of problem
  36. during the installation (e.g you forget to swap disks), you can partially re-install
  37. the game by hand using my 'rippsyfiles' command. No need to specify the disk id if
  38. you're sure of the disk you've inserted.

  40. rippsyfiles 0 GAMES:Leander will rip the files of the disk DF0: into the directory
  41. specified.

  43. After that you just have to adjust the tooltypes and start the game by clicking on
  44. the LeanderHD icon or by typing LeanderHD <options> in a shell.

  46. OPTIONS:
  47.  
  48. I don't repeat them in every doc file I join to one of my installers. Read the doc
  49. I wrote to know the details. You'll find it on my http patch page.

  51. PAL: Forces the game tu run PAL mode. Useful when you have a NTSC amiga, useless otherwise,
  52. because the loader switches in 15KHz anyway.
  53. NTSC:Same thing for NTSC.
  54. TRAINER: activates trainer when there is one. Here it is infinite lives.
  55. QUIET: displays nothing and opens no window. No error messages, and no author message.
  56. DEBUG: useful only for bug reports. Makes a memory image on exit.
  57. LEAVEVBR: useful only for debugging purposes, and with a debugger such as Action-Replay,
  58.           HRTMon or ThrillKill. Don't select it unless you want to debug.

  60. FEATURES:

  62. - Full HD Install of the game, using real files instead of diskfiles.
  63. - Full use of fast memory, but avoid 32 bit fastmem if possible and use chipmem instead.
  64. - HD save of the hi-scores.
  65. - F10 key allows you to quit the game (and the hi-scores are saved unless you specify
  66.   the NOOSSWAP option). I'm sorry, I could not make a in-game save because the game
  67.   crashed after the call. My routines are still to be tuned :-)

  69. BUGS:
  70.  
  71. - If you run and quit the game once, and the re-run it, the keyboard will be disabled.
  72.   That's a mysterious bug I found in other installers from mine. I'm working on it.

  75. If you find some other bugs, or the game crashes, please e-mail me (specify your
  76. configuration).
  77. I'm also looking for people who could send me original disks for me to patch them
  78. for 680x0 or write HD-Installers (NO WAY FOR CRACKED VERSIONS).

  89. This patch can be distributed freely, but I'd appreciate that you drop me a line
  90. if you include it in a coverdisk or PD collection.

  92. However, FFD (France Festival Distribution) is not allowed to include it in any
  93. of its PD disks (if you read usenet in fr.comp.sys.amiga, you'll know why).
  94. It's the only exception for the distribution.
